The Commander of the Arkansas Disabled American Veterans, Dan Hall (right in photo), visited various Mountain Home businesses looking for funds to replace an old van that is used to transport veterans to the Little Rock and North Little Rock Veteran's Administration Health care facilities. Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3246 voted to donate $17,600 for the purchase of a new van. This would be in addition to the Columbia Trust Fund that contributes the other half of the price of a discounted Ford van. With the many area veterans that need transportation to Little Rock two vans are used and they have to replace one of the vans every two years. Commander Hall was very grateful for the donation from VFW Post 3246 Mountain Home. Also pictured are Post Commander 3246 Bill Bradford, left; and Commander Ron Hayden, Director Arkansas Veterans Transportation System.
